Weddings

Just back from Key West for Dax & Courtney's wedding, where we met up with...well, everyone. Old college friends, old roommates, old neighbors...cousins and uncles we hadn't seen for nearly 10 years (I'm so proud of Nick for getting everyones' names right!). 5 days of a rocking good time, lots of late-night/leftover pizza and a constant beer-champagne-what did I have again? buzz. New Year's was spent watching the famous "shoe drop" with dozens of beautiful queens - beaded necklaces and shots abounded, all pretty shameless. For the reception, of course, everyone spiffed up...

Like pretty much everywhere else in North America this year, the cold front was relentless - this meant wearing lots of borrowed men's clothing - but some nice brisk jogs and a good amount of time in the movie theaters and malls (God bless America). Hit up touristy South beach for a few days (there are no words for the amount of bling and haircuts you see here) where we indulged in Asian-fusion food, stocked up on gadgets (love those Apple stores), toured the World Erotic Art Museum and took a few classes at Synergy Yoga studio on historic Espanola Way (Miami's oldest studio). Nothing like some stretchy grandmas (who actually put me to shame...) and holistic snobs before your daily Starbucks.

Hooray for family reunions! Hooray for weddings! Especially of the destination variety!
